Why AIH Lab exists
Healthcare AI is widespread but illegible. AIH Lab is the shared reference that makes it comparable, accountable, and learnable from.
What we add
The registries tell you a trial exists. We tell you what kind of AI problem it is, where in the pathway it sits, and what it puts in front of a clinician — so three thousand unlike trials can be compared. And we check that reading against the source, because it’s ours, not theirs.
Everything in the Library is already public, and none of it needs us to vouch for it. What no public source provides is the comparison: a registry entry never says which use-case family a trial belongs to, whether the AI detects a condition or recommends a treatment, whether it acts at triage or at follow-up, or whether what reaches the clinician is a diagnosis, a risk score or a prioritised list. That classification is ours — which is why it is the part we check.
The problem we solve
Every hospital documents its AI differently. Comparison across organisations is nearly impossible, and procurement, governance and research each hit the same wall.
The EU AI Act made AI in healthcare a high-risk category. Hospitals need to demonstrate classification, oversight, and post-market monitoring. Most don't have the structure to do it.
Clinicians, patients, and the public need to know what AI is doing, with what evidence, under what oversight. Today, that information lives in PDFs, vendor decks, and inboxes.

What we don't do
- • We don't host patient data. The platform stores deployment metadata only.
- • We don't give clinical advice. AIH Lab is a catalogue, not a clinical decision system.
- • We don't endorse vendors. Validation refers to the deployment record, not a product.
